home hall hire activities environment east hemel development bunkers park cemetery forthcoming events newsletter 500 club online shopping useful links gallery testimonials contact us welcome to leverstock green village association lgva about lgva lgva committee committee members area of benefit constitution leverstock green village association cio leverstock green village association is a voluntary group and charity which seeks to promote and protect the interests of residents and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time. it also supervises the maintenance and management of the village hall in the furtherance of these aims. leverstock green just a short walk from open countryside, leverstock green is a historic and pretty english village on the eastern edge of hemel hempstead. with its village green, local shops, schools, library, clubs, church and various other amenities, it is a popular place to live for all ages. the village has excellent transport links and is conveniently located for easy access to the m1 (junction 8) and m25 (junction 20 or 21). frequent train services run from hemel hempstead and nearby st albans stations. regular bus services serve hemel hempstead, st albans, watford, rickmansworth, stevenage and welwyn garden city. nearby, the 758 green line bus offers a fast service to brent cross, baker street and victoria while from the town centre national express provides services to luton, heathrow and gatwick airports as well as other towns and cities in the home counties. the village hall we benefit from having one of the finest village halls / community centres in dacorum with a main hall and two smaller rooms, also two kitchens and a bar. all are very well used for a variety of purposes ranging from dance classes to amateur dramatic productions and are available for hire by the hour on a 'one off', weekly or monthly basis at very competitive rates. full details can be found by clicking on the hall hire link above. many of the clubs and organisations that use the hall would welcome new members, details of most of these can be found by clicking on the activities link above. about lgva leverstock green village association was founded in 1962 by fred buglass to act as a voice for the whole community. until that time we had a village hall trust which ran the old hall at the top of pancake lane. the association became a registered charity on 25 april 1974 just prior to the present hall being opened in july of that year. the area we cover (known as our 'area of benefit') is defined as the ecclesiastical parish of leverstock green as it existed at that time. the day to day running of the halls falls largely to the hall management sub-committee of lgva and we hold regular fund raising events for this purpose. in recent years the association has provided christmas lights in the village centre and these have proved very popular. we are grateful to shops and businesses and residents of leverstock green for their generous support of this venture. if you are a keen, or even occasional, photographer and have one or more good photographs taken around the village why not send them to our administrator. we will endeavour to post some of them on our website. watch out also for our photo competitions which will be held twice a year. on 1st september 2017 we became a charitable incorporated organisation and this is reflected in the change of our formal title to leverstock green village association cio and our new charity number, 1172784. how can you help?
